How long does it take to answer one of your Online Questionnaires?
It depends on the document you are purchasing and whether you have all the information you will need to complete the Online Questionnaire when you start.
However, generally, users will finish a Questionnaire within 15 minutes to 35 minutes.
How do I pay for my document?
After completing the Online Questionnaire, you will select the “Pay and submit” button.
You will be taken to Payfast our Payment Gateway where you will need to enter an email address that will be used for security reasons and for tracking your payment.

Please note that in January 2023 Payfast reimagined its look and feel. You will also find them at a new address payfast.io (however, they are still at payfast.co.za too). They are just as safe, secure and super-fast as ever.
Can I pay cash for my document?
You can now pay CASH for your documents. We accept cash through a system called SCODE. SCode is a unique payment platform that allows you to pay for your online purchases in person at over 6,000 South African retailers. You can use credit, cheque or debit card AND cash!
After you have completed your Online Questionnaire and selected “Pay and Submit” you will be transferred to our Payment Gateway where you can select to pay using SCode, you will receive an email or SMS that must be presented at one of the participating retail stores. This email or SMS is only valid for 7 days.
If you choose to receive an SMS, the cashier at the retail store will simply input the 16-digit code received on SMS.
If you choose to receive an email, the cashier at the retail store will scan the emailed barcode if it has been printed. Barcodes shown to cashiers on mobile devices will require the cashier to manually input the 16-digit barcode number.
Can I pay for my document in instalments?
You can purchase any iLawyer product by instalments payments.
iLawyer is an authorised and verified merchant with both MobiCred and MoreTyme.
Both these services allow our customers to use credit facilities to purchase products from our store.
All you need to do is select MobiCred or MoreTyme as your payment option once you are at our payment gateway (after completing the Online Questionnaire and clicking the “Pay and Submit” button). If you are not already a MobiCred or MoreTyme member you will be able to register an account; there are requirements to get a credit facility that will be explained during the registration process.

Can I save my Answers and come back later to finish an Online Questionnaire?
You can save your Questionnaire and continue again at a later stage. Simply select the “Save and Finish Later” button at any time while answering the Questionnaire, you will then be given a unique link that can be used to return and complete your Questionnaire. You may also elect to have the link emailed to you.
What happens if something goes wrong and I lose my answers before I can save my Online Questionnaire?
iLawyer saves your answers for a short time, so if something goes wrong (like, you lose your internet connection; you navigate away from the Online Questionnaire by accident; you run out of batteries; etc.), contact us as soon as you can on email@example.com and we will help where possible.
How do I receive my document?
Your document will be sent to you by email after you have completed the Online Questionnaire and processed payment.
Do I need an email address to use iLawyer?
Yes, you do. We need to send your personalised document to you and we use email to send all documents to customers.
How long before I receive my document?
Your document will be sent to you by email after our system has finished with it.
The email with your document will usually arrive within 30 minutes but may take longer depending on a number of factors; therefore we suggest you allow 1 working day to receive the document after completing the Online Questionnaire and payment.
Can I edit a document after I have received it?
If you need to make changes to the information you provided during the Online Questionnaire, you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org within 10 working days of receiving your document. You can also make hand-written changes if you prefer. Remember that hand-written changes usually need to be signed by all parties.
Do I need to register to use iLawyer?
No, you do not need to register with iLawyer to buy our do-it-yourself legal documents.
However, you will need to provide a valid email address so we can send your personalised document to you.
What format are iLawyer documents?
Your document is in PDF format.
In what countries can I use iLawyer's document?
iLawyer’s documents are intended to be used in South Africa or in terms of South African Law.
Some of our documents might work in other countries but, as our documents were not designed for use in terms of other countries Laws, results may vary.
Can I get legal advice from iLawyer?
Unfortunately, you cannot. iLawyer is not a law firm.
